What Is Remote Online Notarization (RON)?

Remote Online Notarization (RON) is a secure and legally accepted method that allows U.S. citizens to have documents notarized entirely online using live video. You can complete your notarization from anywhere within the U.S. or its territories, as long as you have a stable internet connection and the proper identification.

Key Facts About RON:

The Notary Must Be Commissioned in Their State
The notary performing RON must be physically located in and authorized by their U.S. state of commission. However, the signer can be anywhere within the United States or its territories.

Only for U.S. Citizens
RON is only available to U.S. citizens at this time. Foreign nationals are required to appear in person and cannot use this service online.

24/7 Availability
Our remote notarization services are available 24/7, making it easy to get your documents notarized at your convenience—no matter your schedule.

Secure Identity Verification – KBA Process
U.S.-based signers must complete Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA), a secure process that verifies your identity by asking multiple-choice questions based on your personal history. This step must be successfully completed to proceed.

Real-Time, Face-to-Face Notarization
The notarization is conducted via live video conference:

  • The notary sees and communicates with the signer in real time.
  • The signer’s ID is verified live on camera.
  • Once signed and notarized, the document is delivered electronically.

Who Can Use RON?

  • U.S. citizens residing or traveling within the 50 states or U.S. territories
  • Business professionals, real estate agents, and legal clients who need fast, secure notarization
  • Anyone who needs legally binding, remote notarization from the convenience of their device

Safe. Legal. Convenient.

Remote Online Notarization is fully compliant with U.S. state laws and uses secure, encrypted platforms to keep your personal information and documents private and protected.
